AI didn't invent low-quality content. It made it faster, cheaper, and easier to produce and distribute.

AI slop may sound like a new problem, but the internet was filled with low-quality content long before OpenAI arrived. We had articles written for search engines, canned social posts, overused templates, recycled trends, clickbait headlines, and comments that added nothing to the conversation.

AI didn't invent slop. It put it on a production line. Now generic content can be created faster, in greater volume, and with far less effort. But that does not mean everything created with AI deserves the label. AI-assisted content and AI slop are not the same thing.

In this episode, Marisa explains why good people produce forgettable content when they are tired, overwhelmed, and pressured to keep feeding the content machine. She also explores what happens when AI over-polishes your work, scrubs away your quirks, and leaves behind something technically correct but missing the person who created it.
